You're allowed to take up space slowly!

I want to start by saying this: there is no rush here. So many of us move through life feeling like we’re behind, like we need to hurry up, catch up, or explain where we’ve been and why things don’t look the way we thought they would by now. But healing, clarity, and growth don’t respond well to pressure!

You are allowed to take up space slowly. You are allowed to move at a pace that honors what your heart and spirit need in this season. Becoming isn’t something that can be forced or rushed, it unfolds when we give ourselves room to breathe.

There’s a quiet lie that the world tells us if we’re not producing, posting, or progressing in visible ways, then we must be stuck. But slowing down does not mean stagnant. Rest does not mean quitting. Pausing does not mean you’ve lost your way. Often, it means you are finally listening to God or yourself instead of the noise around you.

Scripture reminds us of this truth when it says, “In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength” (Isaiah 30:15). Strength does not always look like movement. Sometimes it looks like choosing rest. Sometimes it looks like trusting God enough to slow down.

If you’ve been feeling tired, uncertain, or like you don’t have the words yet, that doesn’t disqualify you. It simply means you’re human. There are seasons when strength looks like forward motion, and there are seasons when strength looks like staying present and letting yourself be held right where you are.

You don’t have to perform your healing. You don’t have to rush your clarity. And you don’t have to become anything other than who you already are in this moment.

Your Gentle Reflection:

Where in my life can I allow myself to move more slowly without guilt?

As you move through today, my prayer is that you give yourself permission to soften. To release the pressure to be further along. To trust that slow growth is still growth, and that you are exactly where God needs to be right now, at this very moment!
